T&T will begin the defence of their CWI Regional U-15 title today, when they come up against Jamaica at Brighton in Barbados.
The T&T team arrived in Barbados on Monday night after their flight set for earlier in the day was delayed. The boys had a good workout at St. Catherine’s yesterday and they go into action at 10am, looking for a good start to the championship.
Manager of the team Anthony Ramjit speaking to Guardian Media said he was not very happy with the accommodation at Cave Hill and was hoping that the organisers put things right, so that the players can be comfortable going into the matches. “We are being housed at Cave Hill and the rooms are not comfortable at all. It is very hot and we have asked to at least fans so that the players can be comfortable. There are other issues with the washrooms but I am trying to keep the players attention away from this and focussed on the job at hand.
“We are the defending champions and a lot is expected of the guys. We had a good workout and despite little injury niggles, the boys will be okay come match time.” In other matches today, Leewards come up against Guyana at Crab Hill and Windward Islands play hosts Barbados at Weymouth.
