T&T struggles against Windwards

Tariq Mohammed is bowled for 19
The T&T U-17 team preparing for the upcoming regional championship got a good workout against the Windward Islands U-17 at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) on Wednesday.
The match ended as an abandon game but both sides got in enough play to assist with the preparations. T&T won the toss and decided to send the Windwards in to bat. The local bowlers hit good areas and kept the visitors down to 187 all out in 43.4 of the allotted 50 overs. T&T replied with 147/9 in 31.3 overs when the rains came and the match was called off as an abandon encounter.
T Tanervier was the best of the Windwards batsmen and notched 82. He faced 108 balls, batted for 125 minutes and struck eight fours and one six. Opener and captain K Melius got 34 of 31 balls with five fours and one six. Bowling for T&T Sachin Soodeen took 4/37, while Avinash Mahabirsingh grabbed 3/13. 
When T&T responded they found the going tough and lost wickets at regular intervals. Opener Tariq Mohammed looked good in compiling 19 of 21 balls with three fours but did not carry on. L Francis topscored with 25, M Ambad got 18 and Jadon Seales struck an unbeaten 21, as T&T struggled to 147/9 of 31.3 overs.. There were two wickets apiece from J Budy, T Pope and E Doctrove for the Windwards.
