San Francique opened their account in the Atlantic Primary Schools National play-off round one with an exciting ‘Super Over’ victory over Picton Presbyterian.
Both teams at the end of their tussle ended with similar scores of 125 runs for six wickets. This necessitated a ‘Super Over’ to break the deadlock and Picton Presbyterian who scored five runs in their over, bowed to San Francique who scored six runs for one wicket off five balls.
Earlier, the up and coming Picton Presbyterian scored 125 for six in their 20 overs. San Francique who has a proud record in Atlantic cricket responded with a similar score.
Elsewhere, Rochard Douglas Presbyterian came up against Granville RC in Penal. Granville won the toss and chose to bat. They scored 73 runs for eight wickets off their allotted overs. Bowling for Rochard Douglas Brian Beharry took three wickets for 13 runs and Anthony Arrindell took two wickets for 13 runs. In their reply Rochard Douglas got their target of 74 runs in 12.5 overs with for the loss of two wickets. Leading the charge for Rochard Douglas was Darius Maharaj with 11 runs and Aidan Boodram who ended his innings on 11 runs not San francique presbyterian
