Rochard Douglas suffers 1st loss in Atlantic cricket

Rochard Douglas Presbyterian suffered their first loss of the 2017 Atlantic National Primary School tournament when they went under to Montrose Government by six wickets in their National play-off clash at Montrose.
Rochard Douglas won the toss and chose to bat first a decision they would have regretted at the end of their innings. They were only able to make 60 runs at the end of 19.1 overs with South Zone U-13 wicketkeeper/batsman Sachin Butkoon top scoring with nine.
The bowling for Montrose Government was led by Nick Ramlal with four wickets for two in four overs. In their reply Montrose Government reached their target of 61 runs in the 14th over for the loss of four wickets. Top scoring for Montrose Government was Justin Jagessar with 25 runs. Leading the bowling attack for Rochard Douglas was Brian Beharry with 2/17. Rochard Douglas are now hoping for a quick turnaround in their upcoming quarter final game next week in a bid to get into the semis.
At Montrose: Rochard Douglas 60 all out (19.1) (Sachin Butkoon 9, Nick Ramlal 4/2) vs Montrose Government 61/4 (14) (Justin Jagessar 25, Brian Beharry 2/17) – Montrose won by 6 wkts.
