Nick’s T20 blitz off with a bang

Bronte Sugar Road opened the inaugural Nicks Sporting Goods pink pall T20 tournament with a thumping win over East Indians at Evergeen Sports Ground in Pluck Road, San Francique last Thursday.
Batting first in front of a good crowd, East Indians did not negotiate the pink ball well and ended up being all out for just 119 runs. Bronte Sugar Road responded with 122/4 in 16.2 overs to claim the six-wicket win.
The tournament continued on Monday night and this time Longdenville was in awesome form, winning by eight wickets. They got over the line against Secret Storm by eight wickets. Secret batted well to post a challenging score of 142/5 in 20 overs. They must have fancied their chances of winning this enounter but Longdenville romped to victory at 143/2 in just 14 overs.
Organiser Vishal Ramnarine said :”Come out and support the first ever pink ball night cricket T20 Blitz. We have some great teams playing and the quality of cricket is good.” Ramnarine added that Penal has become a hub for local cricket and he is very happy to have his tournament in the area. “We are looking forward to great cricket in this league. We have worked very hard to bring it on stream and the community has been coming out to support the cricket. The pink ball is a great addition to the cricket landscape and the players are all very excited to play with it during the tournament. We are hoping that some good cricketers can be found through our cricket tournament, who can go on to greater things.”
