Munro warms-up for CPL with 100

Trinbago Knight Riders batsman Colin Munro warmed-up for the upcoming 2017 Caribbean Premier League, when he smashed a century against a TTCB XI at the Brian Lara Academy on Sunday night.
The New Zealander scored 100, as TRK took a 15-run win over the TTCB outfit. The left hander scored his century of just 46 balls, to spur his team to 214 for eight off their allotted 20 overs. He clobbered nine sixes and seven fours in his knock and looked in top notch ahead of the series.
West Indies batsman Darren Bravo also looked good in getting 48 of 21 balls with four sixes and three fours. Other batsmen getting into double figures were wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin 19 and Pakistani Shadab Khan 14. Javon Searles took 3/21 and Philton Williams 3/12.
When the TTCB XI replied they made a grand effort to get the target but fell short at 199 for five of 20 overs. Hamza Tariq the ICC Americas player who is playing for the TKR in the upcoming CPL, was the top scorer with 68 of 36 balls with six fours and four sixes. T&T Red Force wicketkeeper/batsman Amir Jangoo scored 51 of 30 balls with one six and nine fours, while Tion Webster got 22 and Isaiah Rajah made 24. TKR skipper Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers with 2/47 from his four overs.
Yesterday, the team hosted the special Olympians on behalf of sponsors Digicel and last night at 7pm they were due to play the same TTCB outfit in their second practice match.
