Leaders Comets battle QPCC II Saturday

Leaders Alescon Comets will face a stern test when they come up against
QPCC II at the Queen’s Park Oval Saturday in their round four TTCB Premiership I clash from 10am.

Comets are leading the pack with 49 points after three matches including
two outright wins in their last two matches.

However, those wins came at the result oriented Pierre Road ground and now they come to the big yard to battle QPCC II which is no easy walkover. Charles Guillen men have fought well this season, their first back in the Premiership and is in fourth place with 29 points. Packed into their team are a number of talented youngsters like West Indies U-19 player Kirstan Kallicharan and the consistent Joshua DeSilva. Comets have been playing great cricket this season thanks to the experience duo of Rayad Emrit and Roshon Primus who have led from the front.

Defending champions and second place QPCC I will come up against First Citizens Clarke Road at Wilson Road. The Parkites, yet to register an outright win this season is expected to be greeted by a turner at Wilson Road but they have the spin quality in their ranks to give a struggling Clarke Road a good workover. Clarke Road is currently seventh in the standings with 21 points. The other game will pit third place Merryboys against last place Central Sports at Invaders ground in Charlieville. Central Sports although they are at the bottom of the pile, have played good cricket but
have been very unlucky in some close encounters.

Merryboys on the other hand have been very solid this season and the veteran Atiba Alert is doing wonders for the Patna Boys.

Saturday there will also be action in the Premiership II and the three Championship Zones.
