HARARE, Zimbabwe – Windies captain Jason Holder spoke to members of the media after the team’s training session at the Harare Sports Club.
The Windies are in the capital city preparing for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament, which runs from March 4 to 25.
“We’ve got a well-balanced side, quality side with experience. Hopefully, we could make things happen in this tournament,” Holder said.
“We know what is at stake. It is an opportunity for us to grab some momentum heading into next year’s World Cup, get some games under our belt, just finalise some combinations, get things straightened, and hopefully turn our cricket in terms of the ODI format.”
Windies will start with a warm-up match against Afghanistan on Tuesday at the Harare Sports Club. First ball is 9:30am (3:30am Eastern Caribbean Time/2:30am Jamaica Time).
