Central Sports continued their cinderella run in domestic cricket this season with a resounding victory over PowerGen Sports in the semi-finals of the TTCB T20 tournament at the Brian Lara Stadium on Thursday night.
Tonight they will battle Merryboys for the title, as Merryboys got over Clarke Road in their semi-finals. PowerGen took first strike against Central Sports and made 145/4 of their allotted 20 overs. Leading the way was West Indies player Jason Mohammed who made an unbeaten 50. He faced 32 balls, striking three fours and three sixes. Jerron Maniram got 30 not out of 22 balls and national player Ewart Nicholson made 30 of 27 balls.
Central Sports led by an unbeaten 53 from Kamil Pooran easily got over the ropes at 150 for four off 18.4 overs. Pooran guided the victory chase nicely facing 41 balls and hitting four fours and a six. Guyana Jaguars coach Royston Crandon playing for Central Sports strucka brutal unbeaten 32 at the end. He needed only 22 balls and struck three fours and two sixes. Mark Deyal took 2/24 for PowerGen but it was not good enough to force the victory.
