C&B United out of Tobago has made the Sister Isle proud by making the semi-finals of the Courts Inter-Club cricket tournament after a five-wicket victory over Woodland at Roxborough on Thursday night.
Woodland from South Trinidad made the journey across to Tobago and batted first in the encounter, recording 136 for seven, which proved inadequate for C&B United, as they romped home at 139 for five. Siddle Diaz who has been in good form this season scored 36 to lead the Woodland effort but the other batsmen struggled. Raj Singh playing for C&B was the best of the bowlers with three wickets for 14 runs.
Joel Bryce then took a liking to the Woodland bowling and scored a rapid 36 to put C&B on the road to victory. Also getting good knocks were Marcus Daniel with 24 and Ako George 25. Bisoon Angard was the chief wicket taker for Woodland taking three wickets for 22 runs.
With the win, C&B will now play HYO at a date to be determined. The other semi-final will be played Tuesday at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) in Couva from 6pm.
