Akeira Peters audio about being part of Windies Women’s side

Akeira Peters audio SOUTHAMPTON, England – Ambidextrous all-rounder Akeira Peters spoke to CWI Media today, following a training session for the West Indies Women’s team, as they prepare for the ICC Women’s World Cup to be staged from June 24 to July 23 in England.

The 24-year-old from Grenada is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who bats left-handed and she is making her first trip with the Windies Women’s side. Peters and the rest of the Caribbean side had another purposeful training session under the guidance of head coach Vasbert Drakes and his support staff on another partly sunny day at the nursery ground of the well-appointed Age as Bowl here.

The Windies Women are using the home of the Hampshire County Cricket Club as their base for a 17-day training camp before moving to the city of Leicester for the formal start of the Women’s World Cup programme.
